Jetvolta

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 October 2026 · Deutsche Fassung

In short: Jetvolta has no accounts, no sign-up and no advertising. It collects no data about you, does not measure your behaviour and shares nothing with third parties. Your records and settings stay on your iPhone.

There are three exceptions, described in full below: when you play a two-player duel over the internet, your device connects to a relay server — that is not technically possible without your IP address. And if you use Game Center, your leaderboard results go to Apple. And in a group round, the other players see your Game Center name.

1. Who is responsible

The controller under the General Data Protection Regulation is:

NameÖzgür Abuska
AddressStraße im Loh 21
63179 Obertshausen
Germany
E-mailkontakt@jetvolta.com

2. What stays on your device

Jetvolta stores a few things locally on your iPhone so the game knows where you left off:

None of this leaves your device. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else. It lives in the app's protected storage and is deleted when you delete the app.

3. What Jetvolta explicitly does not do

4. Playing a duel or a group round over the internet

When you host a duel over the internet, join one with a four-digit code or choose “Quick match”, your device connects to a relay server that we operate ourselves.

Why the server exists at all

Two phones behind mobile or home network connections cannot reach each other directly. The server has a public address; both devices connect to it and it forwards the packets. It does not simulate the game and does not inspect the game data — it passes it on. For “Quick match” it pairs two players who are searching at the same time; if nobody is found, you carry on against the computer.

What data is involved

IP addressProcessed for as long as the connection lasts — without it, no packet can be delivered. In addition, the server keeps it in memory only to limit abuse (at most four connections and twenty join attempts per minute from one address) and forgets it when the connection ends, at the latest one minute after the last attempt. It is not logged, not written to disk and not output.
Room codeThe four-digit number you use to find each other. It is assigned at random and expires when the room ends.
Game dataPosition, attitude and control input of the jets, hits and round state. Forwarded, never stored.
VersionWhen connecting, the app states its protocol version and its version number so that the server can ask an outdated app to update. None of this identifies you or your device.

In a two-player duel there is no account, no name and no chat, and no identifier by which you could be recognised in a later game. In the game, the other player is simply called “Opponent”.

In a group round with more than two players it's different: if you're signed in to Game Center, the other players there see your Game Center nickname as a display in the round – it is forwarded in real time over the same relay server and never stored. If you're not signed in, or have turned Game Center off, the game shows “Pilot 1” through “Pilot 8” instead.

The server list and its measurement

So that players can later get a server near them, the app downloads a short list of servers from jetvolta.com when you open the “Two players” page and, if there are several, measures which one answers fastest. These servers learn your IP address in the process, as with any request on the internet; the web server keeps no access log, and the relay servers treat the measurement as described above. The list and the choice are then stored on your device (section 2).

Where the server is and who runs it

The relay server runs on a rented server of Contabo GmbH, Welfenstraße 22, 81541 Munich, Germany. The server is located in Lauterbourg (France), in a data centre operated for Contabo by Contabo France SAS, and thus within the European Union. Contabo processes the data solely on our behalf under a data processing agreement pursuant to Article 28 GDPR and has no access to the content for its own purposes.

What the operational log contains

The server keeps a technical log so that faults can be found. It contains a timestamp, a random connection number that ends with the connection, the room code, the number of open rooms and players, and counters (for example how many packets above the limit were dropped). It contains no IP addresses and nothing from which a person could be identified. Entries are deleted after 14 days at the latest, or sooner if the log grows large.

Legal basis and retention

The legal basis for forwarding is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR: the processing is necessary to provide the feature you asked for — a duel with a second player. For the short-term limit on connections per address it is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest is that the server is not made unusable for everyone else by mass connections or by trying out codes.

A room ends as soon as both players have left, and at the latest ten minutes after being opened without a second player. After that it no longer exists. If one player briefly loses connection, the room is kept for 45 seconds so you can carry on. A search for an opponent ends after 90 seconds at the latest.

If you play on the same Wi-Fi, your devices connect directly to each other in the local network; our server is not involved. For this, the iPhone asks once for permission to use the local network. This makes your device model visible to nearby devices on the local network (for example "iPhone 15 Pro"), so the devices can find each other – the name you gave your own device stays hidden.

If you play alone, none of this processing takes place. The game works fully without an internet connection.

5. App Store, in-app purchases, TestFlight and crash reports

The app is distributed through the App Store, and therefore through Apple. The data arising there — your Apple Account and the purchase, for instance — is processed by Apple as its own controller under Apple's privacy policy. We receive only aggregate figures from Apple from which no person can be identified.

In-app purchases (liveries, editions, parts, the starter pack and Premium) go through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and processes your purchase history and payment data under its own responsibility and in line with Apple's privacy policy; we receive no payment data and no identifier of yours. The app remembers on your device what you own and asks Apple about your purchases at start-up, when you open the shop and via “Restore purchases”. There is no in-game currency, no loot boxes and no subscriptions; every purchase is a one-time purchase.

If you have agreed in your iPhone settings to share analytics with developers, Apple provides us with anonymised crash reports. You give that consent to Apple and can withdraw it there at any time.

During the test phase via TestFlight, Apple's TestFlight terms apply in addition. Feedback you send there reaches us together with the e-mail address of your Apple Account, because that is how TestFlight works.

6. Game Center

Jetvolta has three leaderboards in Apple's Game Center (Style, Waves, Boss fight). If you are signed in to Game Center on your iPhone, the game signs in there at start-up and sends your best results in these three modes to Apple. Apple processes your Game Center identifier, your player name there and your results under its own responsibility and in line with Apple's privacy policy; other Game Center players can see your leaderboard entry.

We receive no identifier and no name from Apple. Taking part is voluntary: if you are not signed in, or have turned Game Center off in your iPhone's settings, nothing is transmitted; the game then only keeps your best score locally until you sign in. Practice flights and two-player duels are not ranked.

7. Children and young people

Jetvolta is rated 9+ and is made for players from about eight years old. Because the game keeps no accounts, collects no data, shows no advertising and contains no chat, data processing poses no particular risk to younger players.

In-app purchases can be controlled through Apple's Family Sharing: with “Ask to Buy”, a parent has to approve every purchase a child wants to make, and Screen Time can switch purchases off entirely. Apple handles this; the app simply waits until the approval arrives.

8. Sharing with third parties

No personal data is shared with third parties, except in the case described in section 4: in a group round, the other players see your Game Center nickname for as long as the round lasts – not stored, not passed on any further. There is no sale of data, no advertising partners and no transfer by us to countries outside the European Union. The relay server is located in a data centre in the European Union; Contabo acts as our processor for it (section 4), not as a recipient for its own purposes. Game Center is operated by Apple under its own responsibility (section 6).

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Article 15), rectification (16), erasure (17), restriction of processing (18), data portability (20) and objection (21). Please write to the address given above.

Honesty requires one note: because we keep no accounts and store nothing that names you, we cannot find you in our systems — there is simply nothing there. You delete your game data yourself by deleting the app.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority is the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

10. Changes

If anything changes in the game that affects the processing of data — an additional server outside the European Union, for example — this policy will be updated beforehand. The date at the top shows the current version.
